AI Musings: ChatGPT, Memory, Ethics & More…

I’m well aware not everyone follows my regular musings over on LinkedIn, where I tend to “brain dump” my thoughts on Artificial Intelligence (among other things) in the hope it encourages further thinking (and discussion) on important AI developments etc.

As such, this blog post is really just a “round up” of some of my more recent posts which seemed to get people engaged.  I hope you enjoy, and that these “thought leadership” (a phrase I absolutely detest!) pieces get you considering your own usage of ChatGPT, and other Generative AI tools and platforms.

Stop ChatGPT from scraping your website’s content

Lately I’ve seen many posts on the importance of stopping AI tools (like ChatGPT etc) scraping content from your website. Sounds like the clever thing to do – but are you really sure?  This post talks about using tactocs like robots.txt files to block AI robots, but at what expense to your content ever being found?..

ChatGPT’s new memory features and how to take advantage of them

Recently, ChatGPT has been introducing new ways to customise the output, all with the goal of allowing you to create better content, more aligned to your brand voice and business objectives.  There’s the ‘customize’ settings, the new ‘memory’ feature, and the ability (for some) to remember things from earlier chats.  But what about the risks of it knowing too much?…

Are you for or against AI?  Do you love it, or hate it?

I’d like to propose that it’s possible to be both.  I’m “for” AI, and (especially from a geeky perspective) get excited about the advanced tools anyone can now gain access to, and how they can help with so many aspects of business. I’m “against” AI and the way the models have been trained by stealing creative works from creative people…

Other AI updates and interesting things…
