Upgrades to Windows Servers [return]
Beginning February the 3rd at 4pm, a number of major upgrades to all windows servers will begin. Note that this notice does not apply to Linux Hosted customers.
The process will begin by running check disk on all the Windows servers to be sure they are ready for the upgrades. There will be sporadic reboots of the servers while this process is taking place. Each server will take approximately 3 hours, so expect some downtime on the saturday or sunday as a result.
Once check disks are complete, we will begin to upgrade H-Sphere from its current version. This upgrade will more than likely take at least 8 hours; however that is an estimate and it may very well take longer due to the magnitude of this upgrade. There will be sporadic reboots of all Windows servers so the upgrade(s) can take affect.
These are necessary upgrades which will also see the introduction of ASP.net 2.0 on new windows servers in the very near future.
Please also be aware that while MS FrontPage will still be supported after the upgrade, plans are being considered to phase out support by 2008. This is due to the fact there will be no more FrontPage fixes, support or upgrades from Microsoft (the product has reached it's "End of Life").
