Windows Hosting - Change to SMTP [return]
This notice applies ONLY to windows hosted customers (NOT LINUX), who use our SMTP servers to send email. If you do NOT use our SMTP you should not make any changes.
In an effort to minimise both spam and email attacks on the windows SMTP servers, we request that you switch your SMTP port to 2525 (instead of the default 25) with immediate effect.
Instructions for changing to port 2525 on Outlook 2003 can be found below:

Please refer to the images if you have any questions pertaining to a particular step.
1) Open Outlook 2003 and select Tools -> Email Accounts from the menu.

2) Select 'View or change existing e-mail accounts'

3) Select your account and click 'Change'

4) Click 'More Settings'

5) Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab. Make sure the box is checked next to 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' and make sure the option 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' is selected.

6) Select the 'Advanced' tab. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port from 25 to 2525, then click 'OK'

Use the Test Account Settings button to verify that the account is working properly. If any step fails please double check the settings and verify your password is correct then try again. Once the test has completed properly, close the results window using the 'Close' button, then click 'Next >' and finally 'Finish'
That's it! You have successfully reconfigured your email account to use port 2525 for SMTP.
