CPanel stops NeoMail Support [return]
All linux customers should be aware that CPanel have stopped supporting the 3rd party webmail system - NeoMail. As such, we will be upgrading the email system and removing NeoMail from our Linux Servers.
We will continue to run the Horde and Squirrelmail webmail systems. Neomail is an old system and while easy and simple to use, has many bugs and problems.
Technical Info:
This upgrade converts the email format from mbox to maildir. Maildir is much more reliable than mbox and does not require file locking to maintain message integrity as the messages are kept in separate files with unique names.
The main changes that will take effect after the conversion follows:
1) Neomail will no longer be supported and will be removed from the CPanel Interface
2) In squirrel mail, the folders will need to be re-subscribed
Upgrade Date:
This upgrade will be carried out on Saturday 18th November at 02:00 GMT. Downtime will be minimal, but during this time, any emails sent to your domain will be bounced back to the sender.
