Linux Server Upgrades - PHP5 Coming soon! [return]
Due to customer demand, we'll soon be implementing a PHP upgrade on all Linux servers. This will see the installation of PHP5 (running alongside the current PHP4 setup) and will allow our many PHP programmers to take advantage of the new features available.
Rather than replace PHP4.x our plan is to install PHP5 alongside the current installation, allowing customers the option of running PHP5 simply by renaming scripts to *.php5. This minimises any potential problems with incompatible scripts.
In addition, we will also be upgrading the mySQL server to the latest stable version.
